Today is my younger sister’s birthday. I was thinking about the times we’ve shared—laughing, crying, arguing, dreaming—times I wouldn’t trade for anything. I wanted to try and put into words how lucky I feel to have been blessed with her in my life, but I realized I can’t really do it justice, so I’ll cheat just a little bit and use someone else’s words. Today, enjoy a few quotes on sisterhood . . .
“The best thing about having a sister is I always have a friend.” ~Unknown
“What's the good of news if you haven't a sister to share it?” ~Jenny DeVries
“To have a loving relationship with a sister is not simply to have a buddy or a confident -- it is to have a soulmate for life.” ~Victoria Secunda
“A sister is a gift from God, sent from above to make life worthwhile here below.” ~Unknown
“A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.” ~Marion C Garretty
And, some pictures of my sister (and me, sometimes):
What’d I tell you? Lots of good times. Tonight, we’ll go to dinner to make a few more memories, and I’ll remember again how blessed I am.
So, happy birthday to my sister, Tanya. I love you.
