So, one of the many blogs I’ve stumbled across recently is written by a lady named Chantelle called Fat Mum Slim (She’s Australian, so the “mum” in question is a mother, not a flower). I don’t even remember now how it is that I came across it—you know how the Internet can be, right?—but she likes photography, loves her daughter, and writes about a bunch of stuff, including writing. What’s not to like?
Anyway, one of the things she is doing on her blog is sponsoring a photo a day challenge. She provides the daily prompts; all her readers have to add is a picture or two. Or, in the case of May, 31. Since I’ve recently been re-enamored of my photography bug—I’m reading a book about my camera and everything—this seems like the perfect way to pass a little time.
I’ve already browsed around Twitter and Pinterest to see some of the day one offerings, and I have to say that a bunch of them put me to shame. But, of course, it isn’t a competition; it’s a way to encourage blurbs of creativity from as many people as are willing to play along, and I am certainly on that list. If you want to take a look yourself, just do a search for #photoadayMay. I think you’ll be glad you did. And if you’re looking for a little nudge toward creativity yourself, find all the details here.
And, now, for my day one entry: Peace.
A tranquil spot in a local park.
