Snapshot Sunday #6

Welcome, everybody, to this week’s photo grab bag known as Snapshot Sunday

As I’ve been doing for the past several months, I’m playing along with Chantelle’s daily photo challenge over at Fat Mum Slim.  Can’t say enough about how much fun it is, so be sure to check it out.

Let’s see what we got for the first week of September . . .

1. You, Now

Prompt:  You, Now.  Just a quick snapshot while we were hanging out watching the game last week.

2. Father

Prompt:  Father.  This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad.  I think he looks like a pseudo-gangster, like somebody in the Rat Pack or something, very smooth and cool.  I know it’s not PC that he’s got a cigarette, but that was the reality of his life.  (This is actually a picture of both my parents, but—gasp!—I cropped my mom out for this usage.)

3. Far Away

Prompt:  Far Away.  Looking down the highway, heading toward home.  The clouds and the cars are very far away.

4. In My Mailbox

Prompt:  In My Mailbox.  Nothing but a bunch of junk.  Sadly, that’s not all that unusual.

5. Bright

Prompt:  Bright.  A bright morning, with the sun peeking over the trees.

6. Every Day

Prompt:  Every Day.  Filling my filtered water pitcher.  This is something I actually do two or three times a day; my son and I drink a lot of water.

7. Natural

Prompt:  Natural.  Just a bit of nature’s glory—sunshine coming through the clouds.  Except for the frame, this photo is unedited—completely natural.

8. At Night

Prompt:  At Night.  About a gazillion bugs attracted to the stadium lights at the nighttime football game.

And that’s it for the daily photos this week.  I have to say, I thought some of those turned out to be fairly decent shots.  And now, for the rest of the week . . .

Stump

I took a few shots around the yard the day I was looking for something “natural”, and there were a couple of others that I liked, mostly because I thought the light was pretty interesting that morning.

                                                  Yard

This stump was one of them, and so was this stand of trees.  I really liked the filtered sunlight and the shadows it was creating.

And, I took this photo of the sun through the clouds, but I used a filter, so it wasn’t really natural, but I thought it was pretty:

Unnatural

And, lastly, one shot from the OU home opener, fans in the kick-off pose:  (BTW, we won!)

And those are the highlights of my week, as seen through the lens of my camera.  What’s been going on in your world?
